The joint statement touched upon the process of harmonisation of the legislation of the two countries, pre-indicated issues on the development of cooperation on the international platforms.

With regards to the global security and regional challenges, the parties highlighted the enhancement of the key role of the UN and the structures of other international recognition in the settlement of international problems, by preserving the norms of international law, as well as honouring the interests of other states.

Regarding the Nagorno Karabakh settlement process the parties approved the aspiration to continue seeking a peaceful and mutually admissible solution for Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement based on the principles which are enshrined in the joint statements voiced by the Presidents of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries and in the joint statement of the heads of the delegations of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries in Vienna on December 7, 2017. The parties also underlined the necessity of the full preservation and fulfillment of the complex events aimed at the restoration of the confidence, about which was voiced in Vienna and Saint Petersburg Summits, as well as during the meeting of the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Geneva in 2017.
